Comvita Manuka Honey UMF 15+ can be used for an extra boost for chilly winter nights.
Manuka honey indigenous to New Zealand comes from the nectar of the flower of the Manuka bush. The high contents of phenolic acids and flavonoids give this honey its special qualities of being anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
New Zealand’s Manuka honey is known to contain over 2000 individual compounds which is more than 20 fold higher than pasture honey such as clover.
This Comvita Manuka honey is certified as MGO 514+ and UMF 15+.
The major antibacterial component in most honey is Methylglyoxal (MGO) which is particularly high in Manuka honey. The higher the MG, the stronger is its antibiotic effect.
The UMF ( Unique Manuka Factor) rating reflects the concentration of MGO. To be effective enough, Manuka honey should have a minimum rating of 10 UMF.
Always read the label on the package for any warning signs.
Instructions on how to use:
Enjoy one spoonful of Comvita Manuka honey with your not so hot tea* ( maybe with lemon also), toast, yogurt or smoothies.
*Research has shown that if honey becomes warmer than 40 degrees, enzymes might be lost; so you’re missing part of the medicinal power.
